If you are thinking of taking a weekend trip to Bangkok this weekend - you better cancel your trip even though I know some would love to see the Golden lighting there but the authorities fear that things might turn violent during the weekend.   It looks like a civil war is about to start and I haven’t seen one of this in a long time now.   But yes it can turn ugly - and I was in one in Vietnam some 20 yrs ago - and had to be evacuated out of there by a special group - so my advice - better be safe than sorry.

While the neighbours had gone to support their favorite team in Vancouver, BC for the Olympics - I sadly was looking for discount prescription eyeglasses as I watch over the television for more celebration in Vancouver city.   Of course, they had to rub it in.. and send me pictures taken with their iPhone!!  grrrr..!! but I thought I would share these wonderful and vibrant pictures with the world too.  This was taken at the corner of Howe St & West Georgia St.

As a resident in Canada for the past 10 yrs - I’ll have to say that I’m certainly proud that the event was a success - moreso proud because the Canada won many gold medals in this Winter Olympic. Looking at the pictures sent by the neighbours you can feel and see how supportive everyone in Canada was to make this awesome place a success in welcoming the entire world.

What are your thoughts?  were you in Vancouver?  How I wished we could go to .. but with a kid in school and there were no special Olympic break given - we had no choice but to stay put and watch on television.

My  best friend came home after a trip to UK with this snack box from UA  - this is no ordinary snack box mind you - it’s the First class snack box from UA’s regional flights - you can see that it’s made like those industrial products mass produce - I guess this is their way of appeasing their passenger for their cramped legroom.   So on a UA flight - even if the flight was for 2.5hrs - you still get this snack box, unfortunately for UA - as you can see - the best friend didn’t even touch the snack box at all. Shame!

As I was looking at my  life insurance quotes , there had been talk about a new air service in Yarmouth for a few weeks now - and apparently - it will be up and running real soon  - in fact in March.  I’ve written a few weeks ago about Starlink Aviation pulling out of Yarmouth because of funding being utilized to the max which was supposedly for 5 yrs period from the government. I wonder for the people of Yarmouth - how this new air service will work out for them - since it is only going to land in Maine and Yarmouth and not in Halifax?  A 8 seater plan was so secretly kept till last week - wonder whats all the secrecy about ? but as the people of Yarmouth loves to say  - ” THIS IS YARMOUTH! “   Good luck to the ppl of Yarmouth and the air service .. i hope things panned out better for both.

Cuba here i come at the end of March !  i refused to go during the March break because it is so expensive !  and very crowded too in Cuba - just about anyone i know from my small town is in Cuba suntanning and making a fool of themselves.  But did you know that WestJet has a sale on for it’s flight as well as 7 nights for as little as $999 - so I’m taking advantage of it .. and packing my best wrinkle cream for this trip.

We all love Hong Kong for its shopping and eating but little did we know that around Hong Kong you can also find one of the most beautiful place for hiking - the Dragon’s Back.  It was a really amazing place to find and the girlfriend who was on hemorrhoid treatment wanted to part of the hiking group too.  The hike was a 4.5km and one can easily complete the hike in 2hrs.

We started the trip by going on an MTR ride and then took a short bus trip up to a wooded hillside.   We also headed to Shek O after our morning hike and really enjoyed our day there.

I’ve written many a times about Spain but rarely write about Barcelona Airport - I’ve many happy memories in Spain, especially Barcelona - for there I met a wonderful couple that I had lost touch with and missed a boss and his wife who had settled in a small island in Barcelona after they retired.  I even remembered about the natural colon cleanser that was introduced to me at the Duty Free Store at this very airport - it was rather funny because I was with my Managing Director taking a shuttle to Madrid - you see - Barcelona was where our factory was.

Don’t forget to check out the taxis at the airport entrance the yellow and dark blue cars all lined up and steadily waiting for the arrivals of the airplanes.  The airport was huge but clean and many DFS for you to pick up your last minute gifts.

Yoga in the hotel that you are staying in, isn’t really something new to me - in fact, 10 yrs ago before coming to Canada - the hotel i used to work for already incorporated yoga in the health center.  As I was reading about hgh supplements i cannot help but think about all the chain hotels back home that had the foresight.  But having said that it only benefits the long staying guests, for those like you and I going on vacation, would we still want to do our Yoga?  Well, i guess i’m the lazy one who only uses the jaccuzzi and the steam rooms but for those die hard yoga fans i guess it would certainly benefit them.  So when I read that even B&Bs are doing it for their guests i wasn’t really surprised. Good news for those who loves their exercises and don’t want to miss out even during their vacation.

If you are at the Narita Airport and looking for some noodles at the noodle bars, just so you know that the noodle bar is currently being refurbished.  But don’t worry you can still head up to the ANA lounge for some other food.  So armed with my equestrian apparel i propped myself in the lounge chair and  enjoyed a beer on them.

For those who are not aware of this, there are three ANA Lounges at Narita Airport.  One is right after the security checkpoint while the other two are at the end of the airport with one being ANA Lounge First and the other ANA Lounge.  ANA Lounge First are restricted to Star Alliance Gold members flying First class while the other lounge are for Star Alliance Gold.

I haven’t been back to Bali for so long, so you can understand why i feel kinda sad when the best friend sent this picture of her at Jimbaran eating grilled corn.  You see - we used to go there after work and sit and have a beer or two and eat really, really cheap food and corn.  The locals are awesome and you can find all kinds of food along the beach front and everywhere a long the roads.  Oh, did i also add that they are dirt cheap..?  The corn don’t come in their usual butter and salt that we expect but some kinda spicy and thick sauce - so be warned.   I eat so much when I was in Bali - i need a quick weight loss program when i got home Canada.
