Posted by breading in Airplanes, Canada, General Info, Interesting, USA, Useful Links 101 on 11 22nd, 2009
So for those flying Air Canada from now to end of January, you don’t have to rush home to your apartments just to get onto the internet. Now you can do all your online work from the flight, well, actually only from Toronto to Los Angeles. The service will cost $9.95 per flight for customers with a laptop computer and $7.95 for a personal electronic device. Not too expensive in my humble opinion.. because your flight has gotta be more than an hour right..?? So don’t forget to ask for their wireless service on board.. if you are flying Air Canada.

Louisiana Supreme Court Building
Posted by breading in Places Of Interest, Things Must Do, USA, Useful Links 101 on 10 10th, 2009
The Louisanna Supreme Court Building near the french quarter hotels of Beaux Arts-style and originally called the “New Courthouse Building” was originally built from 1908-1910. Its purpose was to “clear slums” while replacing the Cabildo and Presbytère as the seat of local justice. For fifty years the Louisiana Supreme Court and a spate of lower courts and offices drew swarms of glad-handed politicians, judges and lawyers, plaintiffs and defendants, juries and commissioners, clerks and secretaries, librarians, and even an occasional historian through its sculpted hallways. But in 1958 the Supreme Court departed for newer quarters and others soon followed. The Louisiana Wild Life and Fisheries Museum moved in, but when they left, the building closed and was allowed to decay. After an extensive renovation in 2004, the Louisiana Supreme Court moved back into the courthouse, and were joined by Court of Appeal-Fourth Circuit, the State Judicial Administrator’s Office, the Law Library of Louisiana, an Attorney General’s Office and, in time, a legal museum. The building is guarded by a statue of former United States Chief Justice, Edward Douglas White.

New York City Brooklyn Bridge

It’s funny how some of us .. who had been to Brooklyn Bridge still go for a visit every time we are in New York - Manhattan City. Well, for me . .. it’s almost every single time. Why..?? because i’m always there for work.. and always there with a new co-worker. Like the other time, i was there for a life insurance comparison for the company i worked for - opening a rep office, and had to go set up office and payroll and you know the legal work for them plus taxes for the staff and company, i had to tag along with this new co-worker of mine to show her around.
So what so great about the Brooklyn Bridge.. ?? well, my best g/f took her wedding pictures on the Brooklyn Bridge. .and she wasn’t even staying in New York City at that time, she was in San Frans. Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is a must-do if you want a great view of Manhattan - hot but definitely worthwhile telling everyone you walked across the bridge. Of course, take lots of pictures.. like we do and while you are there, don’t forget the magnificent views of the Manhattan skyline at the Promenade, this 1/3-mile-long sliver of green overlooks Brooklyn’s busy industrial waterfront. Enjoy!

OAKLAND, Calif. - Authorities say a St. Louis-bound Southwest Airlines flight was forced to return to Oakland International Airport after a male passenger stripped, hit another passenger and fought with crew members.
Alameda County sheriff’s deputies say Flight 947 returned Thursday morning after 21-year-old Darius Chappille of Oakland allegedly exposed himself to the female passenger sitting next to him and punched her in the face.
Lt. Howard Jacobs says flight attendants and other passengers then subdued Chappille, as he disrobed. He was apparently completely naked when sheriff’s deputies arrested him.

The airlines and Internet Wi-Fi service provider Row 44 have plans to roll out the program in the first quarter of 2010.
Southwest has been testing the service on four aircraft since February 2009. Customers have been using the service for many applications during the testing phase, including e-mail and streaming video.
Southwest has tested a variety of price points for the service and will continue testing price points through the end of 2009.
Fort Worth-based American Airlines and Atlanta-based Delta Airlines already offer onboard Wi-Fi service on some of its aircraft, and Tempe, Ariz.-based US Airways says it’ll begin offering service next year.
Walt Disney World Admission Fee Increases
Posted by breading in California, General Info, Places Of Interest, Traveling Tips, USA, Vacations on 08 1st, 2009Going to Walt Disney World.. before the summer ends..?? well .. it’s good to know that Disney is raising its admission fees from today. Bummer for some.. but still .. if you have kids.. and an increase of $10 for a few kids.. means.. they have less to snack on.. and you’ll have to pay more money.
Walt Disney World is raising the ticket prices for its theme parks.
Disney last raised its admission prices in August 2008.
The Orlando Sentinel reported Friday that the base price of a one-day, one-park adult ticket will increase from $75 to $79. The same ticket for a child between the ages of 3 and 9 will go from $63 to $68. Prices for the resort’s multiday ticket packages also will rise. The new prices will go into effect Sunday.
Canada’s Tourism Affected By Passport Regulation
Posted by breading in Accommodation, Canada, General Info, Interesting, USA on 07 20th, 2009Hotels, bed and breakfast, restaurants and many tourism and places of interest is affected already because of the low American dollar. But with the new passport regulation between the U.S. border and Canada, it is making it even harder for the small business owners to stay in business.
For instance, the drop in the number of Americans using the ferry between Bar Harbor, Maine, and Yarmouth, N.S., isn’t as bad as expected. George Driscoll, vice-president of marketing and sales for Bay Ferries, says a survey of possible travellers in the New England states last fall indicated about 30 per cent of them did not have passports.
I was very surprised to read the above .. because we certainly have seen a declined in tourism in our area. When the claimed that the Canadian brand is strong.. i supposed they are thinking of bigger places like Toronto and Vancouver - i beg to differ here in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
