Kinderdijk is a village in the Netherlands – somewhere in the province of South Holland and not too, too far from Rotterdam.  A place with cheap insurance quotes and many windmills and very scenic bike rides.   The windmills are one of the best known tourist attraction and everyone who is in Kinderdijk will flocked to take pictures of these windmills  – of course – i’m not any different.

People on bikes with the entire family – even with babies are a common sight here.  With the largest collection of working windmills, the windmills are inscribed on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list.  Take the public transport from Rotterdam if you don’t drive.

Blue Mountain

Thinking of coffee yet?  haha!   I don’t know if the coffee – blue mountain derived from this Blue Mountain in NSW – Australia but The Blue Mountains are located in the western part of Sydney and about 2hrs away from the center of Sydney.  We took a trip out one day with the co-workers on a Sunday sunny morning.  Blue Mountains is densely populated by oil bearing Eucalyptus trees.  You can feel droplets of oil in the air which together with the dust particles and water vapour, scatter short wave length rays of lights causes blue in the color of the surroundings.  But going up on Blue Mountain causes my skin to be really dried up it seems – i was reading about  prototype 37c and may need it if I was still in Australia and going there often enough.

Traditional, yet modern.. and in every way.. kid friendly.  More than 300 yrs of history.. i had the pleasure of staying in this hotel.. for a few days.  The rooms were spacious and lovely with modern amenities.. and complimentary breakfast serving from 6.30am.  With only 65 rooms available.. at any one time.. i strongly suggest that you make your reservations really early.  Opened all year round.. room rates are between Euro 61 – 122.  Romantik Hotel Stern is considered one of the historic hotels in Switzerland.
