Yup!  there are B & Bs in Taiwan and one of them is located in Loudong – very European like – just like the one in Germany. Owned by a Mr Hsu – the distinctive style reminds you of those Taiwanese shows – that you never thought you really see.  It is a 3 story building – but very homely.   Designed and built by the owner himself – I heard it cost a few million dollars.  Rothenburg Lodge is a dream come true for the owner -  and for some – we hope that one day – we have a B & B so beautiful eh.

Definitely reminds me of Tudor Court.

We love the bedrooms – that comes with bathrooms attached – this is with a king sized bed.  The room that we had was about NT 4300 about $143.00 CAD.  Plus I have to add – they have awesome breakfast.   I do love this place very much! and hope one day i can get to visit it once more.

i’ve written about Taiwan before and the many wonderful food and best buys  even the  best testosterone creams can be found in Taiwan – until I found this old picture from an old album.  This is in Jiufen Lao Jeh, Taiwan.

Jiufen is a very small town in northern side of Taiwan, I liked this place a lot – it reminds me of home in the 60s – with many old streets and lots of good food and the ocean view was magnificent.  It is said that this town was a gold mining town in the 1800s and when the gold started to decrease the people of this small town also started to move away.   It is now a tourist spot because of the many famous movies that was made here.  Plus I’ve heard that this was a favorite weekend away from home for the Taipei resident.

I’ve heard that another movie Spirited Away used this place as it’s model for the anime in 2001.

Lovely isn’t it.

I Love Taiwan

Need I say more?  hehe!!  greeted at Taiwan airport with this – can only make one laugh – who needs anti wrinkle cream when you can see something like that right?  I’ve always loved Taiwan – not only is the food great – the shopping is even better.

The first thing we did was to go to the Shihlin market of course!  See these jellies ! yums! supposed to give you a cooling effect for your body.  Good for those who have had lots of fried food and curries.  When visiting the Shihlin market be prepared to eat standing up.   For some the Shihlin Market can be quite exhilarating – the amount of things on sale displayed and all sorts of food – and not only food we are talking about here  – it’s pretty darn good food.

The famous betel nut ladies selling betel nuts in skimpy outfits.

Mullet roe or Karasumi – quite expensive mind you..! but super yuummmyy..!!

Old district in Taipei

Some chicken feet found in Shihlin Market

A bean curd place

A place famous for its croissant in Taipei.

This is how the croissant looks like in Taiwan.

I missed Taipei and the last time I was there, i had my fill on Taipei night market.  For those who loves food, you will know exactly what i mean.  But Taipei is not all about food of course, there are the observatory building that you have to visit and many more.

Look at these sausages..!!! humongous..!!!

Intestines.. duck tongues and pig brains and noodles.  Adventurous enough?

The Shilin Market which in  my humble opinion is bigger and longer than the ladies street in Hong Kong. You can find just about everything here.. and even cheaper.. and less rude ppl.. than those in Hong Kong.

Taipei 101 is the landmark building in Taipei.  It is located in the Xinyi District and you need to go up there and take a look because it is the world’s 2nd tallest building.

Just outside the entrance of Taipei 101
