Did I mentioned that I was in Glasgow for 4 yrs? if you don’t now you do and like many students – we take this opportunity to travel around Glasgow whenever time and money permits. This is the Eilean Donan Castle in Scotland found in the picturesque village of Dornie on the main tourist route to the Isle of Skye. This is the bridge to the castle.

Roll of Honour of Clan Macrae inside Eilean Donan Castle Grounds. Set in a type of alcove around the corner from the castle entrance is the MacRae Roll of Honour. Flanked by two guns which have recently been painted grey, this huge bronze plaque lists all the MacRaes who died in World War I. Including Canadians and Australians there are over 500 names. It is a replica of the memorial in Flanders in memory of Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae.

The Castle was immaculately cleaned and both exterior and interior were gorgeously kept. The scenery were to die for – and the day that we were there – the sky was clear – it was beautiful.

I was in Glasgow for 4 yrs.. and one of the very first thing, my host brought me to visit was the Glasgow Cathedral. The history of the cathedral is rich..! My first thought..?? Magnificent..! it was a very, very impressive church. This is one of the few Scottish medieval churches to have survived the Reformation unscathed. It is breathtaking, a beauty and a wonder. The architectural of the building is not something you find now .. in this time.. and I love the painted panes in the church. If you are ever in this area, you should visit Glasgow Cathedral, it is on the east end of Cathedral Street and not far from where Castle Street becomes High Street. You can’t missed it.

With this outfit .. i am sure .. you can guess where we are right now eh. You will be surprised that alot of men wears this during special occasions in Scotland. Do they wear anything underneath.. is usually the question we joke about all the time. Yup.!! we were pretty lame.. at that time..!! well i was only like 20 yrs old..when i was in Scotland for school.

This is the City of Aberdeen, Scotland is a shopping paradise. Known with names like The Flower of Scotland and Granite City, it is a vibrant city .. and very modernized. With modernization, they also have their historical side in this old town. Aberdeen is known for having one of Scotland’s striking skylines. It is known as a Granite City because the building sparkles after a rainfall. Many excellent restaurants are found here in Aberdeen.

Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, seating about 2400 people .. this place hold many cultural, folk, pop and many other concerts. The world’s largest winter music festival is held here. If you ever travel to this area, don’t forget to make a date with the events going on here. It is pretty magical sitting inside the concert hall. And no .. i’m not the arty farty type.

Buchanan Street is just where the Royal Concert Hall is.. a few mins walk actually, you can’t missed it. Surrounded by shops.. and shops.. and the Bank of Scotland can be found here as well. This is usually where we end up spending hours.. going from store to store.
