I don’t write very much of Glasgow or not enough because I had been in Glasgow for 4 yrs to finish my college some 20 yrs ago – and at that time – I just wanted very much to go home and not learn about  medical equipment or anything related to medical stuff.   I did like Glasgow – don’t get me wrong but if i was only there for a brief period .. i think i would have enjoyed Glasgow a lot more.

Like the above Art Gallery and Museum that I’ve been to only once – now looking back at its picture – i wished i had spent more time at the Kelvingrove.  Their collections were pretty amazing if I recalled correct and there was some performance on too – so if you are in Glasgow – don’t forget to check out the gallery and museum.  Don’t forget to check out the Art Lover’s cafe that is wrong the corner too or the Indian restaurant – awesome Indian food there.

I was in Glasgow for 4 yrs.. and one of the very first thing, my host brought me to visit was the Glasgow Cathedral. The history of the cathedral is rich..! My first thought..?? Magnificent..! it was a very, very impressive church. This is one of the few Scottish medieval churches to have survived the Reformation unscathed. It is breathtaking, a beauty and a wonder. The architectural of the building is not something you find now .. in this time.. and I love the painted panes in the church. If you are ever in this area, you should visit Glasgow Cathedral, it is on the east end of Cathedral Street and not far from where Castle Street becomes High Street. You can’t missed it.

Spending 4 yrs in Glasgow University was a great time in my life.  Because of my family situation, I wasn’t able to fly home every summer but only meant i was able to go places with my host family.  I didn’t stay in the hostel like most people because my mum won’t allowed it.  And one of the best thing about studying in Glasgow was the horse riding sessions i had with my host family during the summer.  I learned everything from taking care of the horses to feeding them and the english saddles they had on.  Glasgow is a place .. . i am forever grateful for.. because from Glasgow .. i traveled around the world.

The Hilton Glasgow Hotel was the very first hotel i stayed in .. when i landed from the airport .. for my first assignment on my first job. Ironically my 4 yrs adventure of University in Glasgow, Scotland did not afford me to stay in this hotel. It wasn’t very far from the airport .. and i was thankful for that.. because our flight landed late. The front desk staff was very polite .. and efficient.. but when i tried to make a joke with them.. they didn’t laugh. This was when it hit me.. that the Asian hospitality is different from those in the West.

They didn’t have high speed internet then .. that they boast about now.. but the restaurants.. and bar were there.. when i first visited. They did have a indoor pool .. that was quite small compared to the ones in Asia.. and a fitness center.. that I never got to use. AS you all know .. the Hilton is a brand name.. that is synonymous with high quality standard. One can never really go wrong with staying at the Hilton.

Built some some ten years ago. It sits on prime location overlooking the River Clyde. It is 20 storey high building with 300 rooms and of course executive rooms .. what we called club rooms here. 2 restaurants and of course conference room.

Nope .. this wasn’t the room i stayed in.. mine was a deluxe room. But you can be ensured that staying at the Hilton .. you can rarely go wrong. Plus shopping area is not very far away from the hotel.. but I don’t advice walking.. because they do provide a shutter.

I also flew Luthansa Airlines alot .. when i traveled around Europe.. but I’ll have to say .. that customer service at the passenger line .. whether at the airport or the offices.. were good experiences for me. I love the fact that the seating had a little more space in between than other airlines.. and in flight food was good.. when you flew business class.

I hear they are still running the Chef program at Lufthansa. I love that they provide cheese platter throughout your meals, including fresh fruit platter.

A quick flight from Heathrow to Frankfrut economy class gets you this sandwich only of cheese though but they also have a banana and chocolate flavored muesli bar.
