The year end parties are on the roll – we have a party to go to every weekend – and it’s not only for business but also for friends.  I know for sure that after December is over – I would need some natural colon cleansers with all the wining and dining & partying – a good clean for toxins is good for the body.  If you don’t want blotchy skin – or acne – after so much partying – you know what to do eh.  I never knew that colon cleansing is so important – but once you try it – you know you’ve gotta do it – on a regular basis – my skin has never been better.

My buddies and girlfriends are heading to Bangkok this weekend for a shopping and eating trip – no kids please they said – in their email to me but alas – I can’t go.  And they are going to be doing a lot of shopping and eating, since Bangkok is a shopping and eating paradise.  I bet they are going to put on some weight – but no worries – they have their weight loss vitamins that works every time – they said.  So eat now and then diet later.  I know they are going to have a lot of fun and I want to wish them a good trip – and eat and drink a lot on my behalf girls !  i can’t wait to see how the photos and shopping loot you are going to bring back.

Travel Eats

As you all know, my blog is about traveling and with traveling means lots of eating.  Yes! i love food – therefore for folks like myself I need to read a lot on how to keep my weight down and I’ve read a lot about lipofuze reviews a fat burner for people who loves the food and don’t exercise so much.  *Raised hands* guilty as charged!   But I can’t give up on my eating – since I love food so much and am very adventurous with my food.   But i also don’t want to be obese – so I read up on the good kind of fat burners and their ingredients – making sure that there are no side effects and bad stuff going into my body.  What about you?  how do you keep fit besides exercising and eating right.

For those who knows me by now – knows that I love trips to the Farmer’s Market regardless where I may be.  Why?  they are just so interesting and everything handmade and bake from someone’s kitchen – and not mass produced.  So you can imagine – once again how much I bought and ate on that day.   I complained to my doctor on how to lose weight fast with such a keen and curious taste bud of mine?  Yes! losing weight has never been easy for me – even before I came to Canada – because I traveled a lot for work too and my boss – was a very curious eater too – and would try anything and everything just like myself.

In a little town in Nova Scotia – here I found farmer’s market in a church – and of course – I had to buy some organic peaches and some jam and jelly.   A wee bit more expensive than the local grocery store – but definitely worth every penny.

Yummy preserves and sauces – all made from scratch – I had to get some too of course.

And these savory scones were the most delicious thing I’ve ever tasted – my only regret is I didn’t get more!  At $2 a piece – I was really filled up for lunch!  so yummy!  I know why I put on so much weight – you don’t need a scientist or any doctor to tell me eh – look at all the food I love.  So tell me how can someone like me still eat all the good food and lose weight?

Whenever I traveled – I used to eat all sorts of food – and when you travel around Asia – you cannot help but put on tons of weight after each trip.  For someone like myself – who traveled for work – before migrating to Canada – I wished they had some sort of Appetite suppressant diet pills then – that would have helped a lot.   Even though I tried to be selective with what I ate when i traveled – I can’t help but being adventurous and tried just about everything once – after all like they said – you only lived once.  So by the time – I turned 35  – you can imagine – I was quite heavy.   Those were the days – I have no regrets – but darn – i really wished I would have taken better care of myself – traveling and eating that much – can be a health hazard – hahah!

Some girlfriends of mine from the West are planning a trip back home – they called it the Eat Your Way Through Asia Trip – From Hong Kong to Singapore – then to Malaysia and finally to Bangkok – yes ! all shopping and eating paradise.   They said they were going to try everything they see and even durian – the King Of Fruits and fried cockroaches – hehe!!  that I’ll have to see to believe.  The durian ain’t too bad – but nope I won’t try the cockroaches – if i were them.  But of course – there are so many things to eat and see in Asia – I don’t even know where to begin to be honest.  So I recommended a few things – for the MUST tries and also told them to get some best diet supplements when they get home from their holiday.  Why? because I put on 10Kg every time i go back home.  So here are the few I recommended, let me know if you have any suggestions too.

Crab in Yellow Curry at Harmonique – in Bangkok

Hainanese Chicken Rice in Singapore

Roasted pigeon in Hong Kong – Yung Kee

Grilled stingray in Malaysia.

These are only a few of the must try – so please eat more stuff while you are in Asia – Asia is definitely a food paradize.

For those who have never been to Malaysia – the rustic part of Malaysia is usually the best part – not only do you really get to feel and experience the real culture of the Malaysians – one get to try out the famous durian – king of fruits – by the roadside.  You don’t see this very often in Kuala Lumpur but if you travel further into Malaysia like Batu Ferringhi – you will see many of these stores around – and these are the most awesome places to eat.  Don’t be deceived by the dirty looking environment – because they are not only cheap but they have the best durian here.

Some awesome view after taking the windy and spiral road up to Batu Ferringhi.

Bali Beach

I haven’t been back to Bali for so long, so you can understand why i feel kinda sad when the best friend sent this picture of her at Jimbaran eating grilled corn.  You see – we used to go there after work and sit and have a beer or two and eat really, really cheap food and corn.  The locals are awesome and you can find all kinds of food along the beach front and everywhere a long the roads.  Oh, did i also add that they are dirt cheap..?  The corn don’t come in their usual butter and salt that we expect but some kinda spicy and thick sauce – so be warned.   I eat so much when I was in Bali – i need a quick weight loss program when i got home Canada.

For frequent flyer like myself, i am sure .. you will be pleased to know that at Changi Airport Terminal 2′ SATs lounge.. had been newly renovated again.  I am guessing they are sprucing up because of T3’s recent new lounges.. and cannot leave this old one.. without doing anything eh..??   They had udon, chicken rice.. and the works.. that I liked.. my g/f reported.  And the buffet spread is longer too.  For those traveling thru’ Changi Airport.. don’t forget to check out the new lounges.

You can’t really blame me for wanting some Mcdonald’s after 3 weeks in India right..?  But don’t get too disappointed if you don’t find your quarter pounder or big Mac here.  The Hindus don’t eat beef .. since the cow is a holy animal.  Wonder if “Holy Cow” the expression came from India.  Anyhow.. you can choose from chicken or lamb in your burger.. else you can also choose a vegetarian meal call the McAloo Tikki .. which is actually potatoes, peas and spice made into a pattie.

The taste..? i’ll have to say .. there were spices.. but nothing spectacular .. and the fries were so-so.  I had the chicken Maharaja Mac and a co-worker of mine had a wrap.  He said.. it was ok.  Anyhow.. if you are going for McDonald’s .. don’t forget that the street food is way better.. be a little bit more adventurous eh.
