Barcelona Airport
Posted by breading in Airports, Barcelona, Europe, Useful Links 101 on 02 17th, 2010
I’ve written many a times about Spain but rarely write about Barcelona Airport - I’ve many happy memories in Spain, especially Barcelona - for there I met a wonderful couple that I had lost touch with and missed a boss and his wife who had settled in a small island in Barcelona after they retired. I even remembered about the natural colon cleanser that was introduced to me at the Duty Free Store at this very airport - it was rather funny because I was with my Managing Director taking a shuttle to Madrid - you see - Barcelona was where our factory was.

Don’t forget to check out the taxis at the airport entrance the yellow and dark blue cars all lined up and steadily waiting for the arrivals of the airplanes. The airport was huge but clean and many DFS for you to pick up your last minute gifts.

Shopping in Milan is a must .. if you are there but going to Milan during the Glam Shoes Milan Fashion Show Week .. that is to die for. All kinds of women’s shoes were shown and exhibited during that week and i had the pleasure of seeing the Spring edition for 2009/2010. The shoes were fabulous.. i wished i could post all the pictures up here to share with you all. The catwalk was breath-taking .. and so was all the fashion display. the designers were humble.. and came over to make small talks with us.. during cocktail. i call Milan the shoe capital of Europe… hahaha!! I have a few favorite brands - from Ugg to Christian Louboutin, what is yours..?
Dublin

Dublin is know for being the most expensive cities in Europe but now, one can go to Dublin at a much lower price because of Air Lingus - this carrier is a lot cheaper than others. The city is not really small .. but it is compact enough to travel around the attractions by food and most attractions like the National Gallery is free.
The Trinity College is highly recommended and don’t miss it now. You can find awesome Book of Kells made by Celtic monks in the Middle ages on display .. and they are a staple of city life .. and the historic palace bar is great for those who love game days. Hughes you can find local musician .. and they are pretty awesome. Since even the winter is quite mild.. you can go just about anytime.
Another must not missed if you love food is Thorton’s, a Michelin starred restaurant. And of course shopping, shopping, shopping at Kildare Village and buy lots of cashmere like i did.

Tickets To Space
Posted by breading in Accommodation, Around The World, Europe, Interesting, Useful Links 101, Vacations on 03 18th, 2009Thinking of doing something outta the ordinary .. for a vacation..?? well try the toll free number to Sweden’s Ice Hotel .. for they are starting to sell tickets to Space. But you can also choose to sleep in below zero degree if you so wished.
Sweden’s famous Ice Hotel says it will start including tickets for Virgin Galactic’s space trips in its offerings to tourists. The trips, from nearby Kiruna, the northernmost city in Sweden, will start in 2012 if tests with Virgin’s spaceships go according to plan. Ice Hotel spokesman Roland Sand said Tuesday that tourists will be able to chose whether to go through the winter season’s aurora borealis or the midnight sun of Swedish summer.
Amsterdam, Netherland

The Keizersgracht
Amsterdam summer months are wonderful.. and the weather is just nice. .not to hot.. and not too cold. And i guess the city lives outdoors during the summer. Go anytime besides summer.. you may find yourself in the rain all the time.. and for a tourist.. it can be quite devastating..!
Touted as one os the world’s best hangouts.. it’s is truly a blend of the old and new. Bicycles are aplenty here.. and a friend living in Netherland confirms by buying his own bicycle as well. It does look like at times.. the city is full of tourists. Very Dutch feeling, when you see the old crooked houses, the cobbled streets and tree lined canals and generous parks contributed to the atmosphere.
SpanAir Lounge @ Barcelona Spain

I flew a lot to Barcelona and Madrid because my ex-company was located in Spain and the factory was in Barcelona. For Spanair Gold member like myself, I used the lounge a lot. I think some of the hostess there kinda know me, they even greet me by my family at times. Drinks were free and there were no shower.. but a smoking area there is .. as you all know the Spaniards love to smoke a lot. The lounge is nothing to shout about and small compared to the one in Madrid but it is at a great location, so instead of heading over to Singapore Airline lounge.. because i fly a lot on SIA too, i used this one instead.

Ya.. ! the olives were huge.. and the drinks were so-so.

Short Stay Apartments In Amsterdam
Posted by breading in Accommodation, Amsterdam, Europe, Hotels, Traveling Tips, Useful Links 101 on 11 12th, 2008
Like anyone traveling for business or going on vacation, looking for the right place to stay is very important. For us, we were usually traveling because of business and we sometimes have meetings and late conference calls to our head office, from our hotel room, which sometimes can be not feasible at all. Hotel rooms are kind of small but if we choose to stay in an apartment like those offered at Amsterdam Short Stay Apartments, you can understand why we choose an apartment over a hotel.
Conveniently located, these apartments are spacious, have equipped kitchens and are fully furnished from living room to bedrooms. Here we don’t have to cram into a small room for our meetings and conference calls and it certainly wouldn’t look weird to invite an office associate to the apartment. As in a hotel, most of our guests need to register at the front desk after 9pm, which can be a real hassle.
Rental is as low as € 105.00, therefore it is very cost effective for those of us who were traveling in groups. Check the availability online or you can contact them by phone or thru’ their contact form online. Why pay an arm and a leg to book an extra conference room for your meetings when you can have the whole apartment to utilize as you wish.
Glasgow Cathedral, Scotland

I was in Glasgow for 4 yrs.. and one of the very first thing, my host brought me to visit was the Glasgow Cathedral. The history of the cathedral is rich..! My first thought..?? Magnificent..! it was a very, very impressive church. This is one of the few Scottish medieval churches to have survived the Reformation unscathed. It is breathtaking, a beauty and a wonder. The architectural of the building is not something you find now .. in this time.. and I love the painted panes in the church. If you are ever in this area, you should visit Glasgow Cathedral, it is on the east end of Cathedral Street and not far from where Castle Street becomes High Street. You can’t missed it.
