I wasn’t in Budapest for long.. it was just a stopover.. so we tried to make the best of the trip..and someone had told us. .we had to go to The Bory Castle at Székesfehérvár. Closed during the winter.. so we were kinda lucky to have arrived in the summer.

This i heard is a very popular place for tourists like us. Work of a Hungarian sculptor and architect, jeno Bory, the castle was built in the 1920s right up to 1960s. The castle contains a very wide range of architectural style. Most places in the castle is open to visitors..and you can feel free to even climb the towers.. or just walk the gardens and admire the sculptures. There are several galleries inside the castle that features some exquisite paintings.

Pretty majestic looking from here.

A view of the castle.

I was in just finishing my university in Glasgow many years ago, when my few buddies wanted me to join them on a tour around Europe for our summer vacation instead of returning home right away. But unlike my buddies, I wasn’t a very rich student at that time and in fact was on scholarship .. and had to work part time in the library for anything extras. You can imagine how reluctant i was to miss this golden opportunity to see Europe. Those were supposedly to be my carefree days.
Now when i hear the high school students from Canada going for school trips to Europe.. i can only envy them because they now can rent affordable apartments like the Budapest apartments. I hear they are not only affordable for students, the budget travelers and those family with lots of children, these apartments are very safe and size of hotel rooms with all the amenities of a hotel. With such good rates, schools and their students benefits from this tremendously. Exploring Europe at such a young age is not impossible no more.
