Bali Hai

Right about now -  we could use some cool mountain air – as I write – you can see here is Mount Batu in Bali, Indonesia.  As you go up to Kintamani – you can see the view of both Mount Batu and Lake Batu.  If I remembered correctly, we did stop by at Kintamani restaurant for a buffet lunch – i think all tourist goes there.  You see tons of tour buses going up the windy road up to Kintamani.

Rice terraces in Bali is quite the norm – beautiful eh?  everyone loves the rice terraces in Bali because it’s very peaceful – the people in Bali is very friendly too  – and the weather is just to die for.

I haven’t been back to Bali for so long, so you can understand why i feel kinda sad when the best friend sent this picture of her at Jimbaran eating grilled corn.  You see – we used to go there after work and sit and have a beer or two and eat really, really cheap food and corn.  The locals are awesome and you can find all kinds of food along the beach front and everywhere a long the roads.  Oh, did i also add that they are dirt cheap..?  The corn don’t come in their usual butter and salt that we expect but some kinda spicy and thick sauce – so be warned.   I eat so much when I was in Bali – i need a quick weight loss program when i got home Canada.

Bali is definitely a mystical place.  When i was much younger, the first thing i did when i arrived in Bali and after a long car ride to the hotel, I would head out to the city .. and look for a drinking hole or even some kind of entertainment or better yet shopping.  But these days, when i head out to Bali, i head out to the mountains.. or the lesser known.. where there isn’t too much tourist around.

This was taken in the lake of Ulu Danu, located at the west side of Lake Bratan, it is actually a small island near a village of the Candi Kuning. At Ulu Danu, there is a Balinese Hindu Temple – it is definitely .. a very lovely place .. with very lovely sceneries.  Very serene, very mystical.. i could spend a few days here.. taking in the fresh air and feel rejuvenated.

A temple that people pray in ..  and very lovely architectural inside and outside of the temple.

Many statues and pagodas.. plus you see lots of monuments around.  The stunning mountain and the magnificent sight is really the most relaxing place I’ve been. Good for people who wants to just relax and for some worship and even to find inspiration.  Of course, the resort has got more than just temples and monuments.. they do have nice golf courses as well and on the other side of this village, you can do your water skiing and snorkelling and other water sports.  I will show you more in another post.
