Many lady travelers bring a long a wide range of skin care products when they are traveling and I don’t blame them at all.  Besides, the regular toner, sun care lotion, moisturizer and remover – some bring a long products to get rid of whiteheads.   So how to get rid of whiteheads when you are traveling you asked?  well, besides not using a too oily moisturizer when you are traveling even though the humidity may be drier than usual – there are creams out there – one can buy to be used during traveling.  So there is no reason why you cannot get rid of those horrid whiteheads when you are traveling.  I make sure I always have a bottle of the whitehead stuff when I am not home – that way I don’t have to worry about my whiteheads popping out during my vacation – I can enjoy my vacations or business trips to its fullest.

The spouse travels for work and because in various countries they don’t encourage smoking indoors – he has decided to look into get  electronic cigarette wholesale for himself and co-workers in his office.  If you’ve watched the movie currently out on DVD – The Tourist – you will see Johnny Depp smoking an electronic cigarette – I definitely like electronic cigarettes so much more – for the nicotine is the same – but you don’t get all the smokey and smelly clothing after you are done for the day.  So yes! i’m all for it – electronic cigarettes are so much more cheaper so I read – and if you are traveling as much as my spouse – you wanna get some too – you can even smoke them on the train and anywhere – so I’ve heard.

Like all women we can’t travel without shopping for something but I love shopping for modern furniture to furnish my home. I find it a lot more meaning buying pieces from the various places that I’ve visited – whether on vacation or for work.  It will be an interesting topic to begin with when someone visits me at home.   While some loves the antique furniture they bring back home from traveling – I prefer the modern type of furniture.  But having said that – the piece of furniture has to be an interesting piece and unique.  I prefer the one of a kind furniture to bring home – but I can’t bring back to huge a furniture – so I usually carry the ones I can – and the rest – I will send them home by air freight.  You will be surprised how much I would spend if I found the right type of furniture to buy.

My girlfriends and I love jewelry shopping when we were on vacation and I miss those vacation time – for after having a spouse and kids – it’s so different when we go on vacation and shopping.  I find that it’s all about them – after I got married.  I can’t even stop and look for some cubic zirconia rings to bring home – one year – when I was shopping in Vegas.   So when the girlfriends asked if I wanted to go on a road trip with them to do some jewelery shopping – I jump on it immediately.  I can’t wait to spring to come – but I missed our asian jewelry too – they are by far one of the best place to buy gold – but when it comes to diamond – now that’s a different story altogether.  But have you been to India to shop for jewelry?  you would be blinded by the massive amount of gold in display.   So wish me luck – this spring – I am definitely going to enjoy myself – and shopping just for me.

So you are thinking of traveling abroad – to Asia?  or maybe to Mexico?  but wait a minute before you leave for the airport – are you aware of the spreading disease such as influenza, measles and meningitis?  or even malaria, dengue fever or hepatitis.  According to some health report that I read 46% of people traveling abroad – do not seek advice about the needles they need when they are out of the country.  Don’t be at risk – make sure you get the proper needles – before you leave your country.

One of the reasons I love traveling is the treasures one can find when you are in a different country.  I remember once I just bought my first house and I was in BangKok and guess what I found in a cabinet hardware store?   Drawer pulls and knobs for my kitchen!!  you see I wanted a certain type that I saw in a magazine – but couldn’t find it anywhere – and it was really by fluke I passed by this hardware store and stopped to take a look for the fun of it.  I was really excited and bought a bunch of it – and some others to bring home with me for my friends – were looking for some themselves.  I loved traveling  a lot – and every country I’ve been to – I’ve managed to find some treasures to bring home with me.  What about you?

Traveling with a physically challenged person – especially in the air – is not as difficult as you think it is.  I’ve traveled with some during my time – when I was working in Spain.  You see – one of my bosses – was physically challenged but it didn’t stopped him from doing anything that we were doing.   The most important thing to remember – when traveling with a physically challenged person – is to plan ahead – and to call the airline ahead to make sure that they know about the travel – the flight and making sure that there are people in the airport and on the plan to assist.  And don’t forget about the insurance and health plan when you are traveling with them.

While Medicare part D plan is different from a corporate health plan when traveling for business – it is good to know that there are people out there to help those who needs help with their health plan insurance from the government.  Different countries have different medicare for these people – and different benefits, so if you are traveling with them – make sure you check that out too.  But let me assure you – most airlines are pretty good with helping out – but be prepared.

The Grand Copthorne Hoel was like a second home to me – many years ago – why?  because my boss was staying at the Grand permanently – for 2 years.  Yes!  they do have long staying guests at this hotel and the rates are awesome.  I love the grand entrance at the Grand – and believed that the ball in front with water features is due to feng shui reasons.  I think the Kwek family owns the Grand Copthorne if I am not wrong.  One thing I also loved about the Grand are all their lighting fixtures especially their bathroom lighting fixtures , in fact I liked it so much  – I tried to find the same supplier they got to get the same lighting fixtures for my bathrooms at home.

The rooms were pretty nice – and they had good restaurants at the hotel – and a very grand lobby with very pleasant hotel staff.

And I’ve eaten at the Cafe Brio for so many times – I can memorized the menu – but I think I loved most is the cold cut bar – with oysters and salad and fruits.   So if you are looking for a place to eat or stay in Singapore – try the Grand Copthorne Hotel – because the locality is just great.

Some people travel for the love of shopping and some people because of the historical presence in a certain place – but I travel for the love of food mostly – well, besides work of course.  And one of the best oyster bars that I’ve been too – sits right in Asia – Hong Kong at the Sheraton Hotel in Kowloon.  Their Oyster & Wine Bar offers around 800 of the delectable creatures. Check every now and then as you will find different varieties  coming from the different regions where oysters are grown. Some of the oysters are flown from Oregon, Galway, Tasmania, Colchester, Brittany, Japan, Long Island, Chile, South Africa and Vietnam.  Watch out for the Namibian varieties and the Chilean ones when they are offered.

Managing several business centers in the last 15 years when I was working in the hotel industry -  really make me realized how important it is  – business centers are to those traveling for business around the world.  But having said that any customer service jobs especially those in the front line are important – they can make or break the stay of a guest in the hotel.   But the customer service agents at the business center usually get to know their long staying guests a little bit more and leave a more lasting impression on the guests.

As a customer service agent (that was what I started as), we’ve received numerous gifts from returned guest of the hotel.  They are usually not something we need – but it was nice – especially if they were things or memorabilia from the country they are from.    But yes!  business center’s customer service agents are very important people to get to know too – for they actually act as the concierge and will probably be able to point you to whatever you need better than the concierge – because they don’t get a commission – and they will have the best for you.
