X’mas In Tokyo

December 25th, 2009

It is a little cold this time of the year in Japan. One tend to eat more .. when the weather is cold.. and can’t seems to lose weight fast enough.   These were found in the Shinjuku area .. in Japan, Tokyo .. and one often wonder how is the light up in Asia right..?

Well, here you have it .. the Japanese are not gonna lose out on the decorating part when it comes to Christmas.. no way..!!!  even without Christmas.. they are already so vibrant.. where the neon signs are .. and all.  I used to joke that if the town planner of the town i am living in right now.. goes to Japan.. he would probably faint.. ! why..?/ because they don’t allowed flickering lights here.. for the safety of the pedestrians.. and the drivers.  Crazy much..??

Yes..! this is only a small part of Tokyo..! the town i am living in .. should be ashamed of themselves.

Escaping The Cold 2

A little further than Las Vegas but definitely worth every penny .. and the time.. if i have to say so myself.  If we didn’t own our own business… i would be getting individual health insurance right now.. and flying off just about now.The Singapore Skyline has changed so much, I am wondering if i will recognised most of the buildings when i go home for a visit.

Simply beautiful.. and it’s making me miss asia .. very much.  I missed all the convenience.. of shopping .. food .. and entertainment.. that i don’t get here.

Escaping The Cold

While the rest of the world is freezing, one can escape to Las Vegas for some warm sunny days .. but chilly in the nite.  But it sure beats cold day and nite right?  And if you are travel a lot like someone i know, some cheap health insurance is a must – i never travel without any health insurance, for  you never know when you may get sick.

The Mirage itself is a spectacular view from outside, I love staying at the Mirage, even though there are many newer hotels out there in Las Vegas.  One is spoiled for choices.

The Luxor is an Egyptian themed hotel, not only is it grand – the architectural work on it is amazing.  Look at the tip of the pyramid .. you can see a beam of light shooting up into the sky… it is an awesome, awesome sight.

A view from my hotel room – spectacular .. and intoxicating – as compared to where i lived.. the town planner of my current town would probably faint.. of heart attack seeing so much lights.

Winter Disney

What better place to bring your kids to then Disney Land in the Winter and yes, kids from all over Asia – now can be a part of this dream come true in Hong Kong Disney Land.  Of course, the men would prefer to be looking at Ferrari parts than seeing Cinderella or Snow White but i’m sure all parents around the world wants to bring happiness to their kids right?  Yes, we are not any different – had we been in Asia, we would have booked a flight out to Hong Kong this very moment.

This is the sleeping beauty castle during the nite – isn’t that amazing!!!  You will love it.. and so will your kids – don’t missed out on Hong Kong Disneyland of course you alo opt to go to Japan – Tokyo – but for a lot of people Hong Kong is a cheaper alternative .. and the food in Hong Kong gotta be the best!

Yarmouth Backpackers is located in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia – Canada.  If there is a place i would recommend to stay with for the weekend when you are passing thru’ Yarmouth – it has to be this place.  It is not only cheap – but very clean and the owners – Cathie and Lee with their daughter are a delightful family to be with.  Cathie who hailed from Australia – is a wonderful person to chat with and they are very hospitable as well.  I have to say they cooked really well that my friends who will be staying with them next summer may  need slim pills when they go home.

Located at the south end of town, the outside does not do the inside any justice.  There are some convenient stores nearby and the hosts will be able to give you directions to several interesting places and lighthouses to visit.

The rooms are spacious – clean and most definitely homely, it’s home away from home.  Choose from either a shared dormitory room (co-ed), twin room, private double or single room.  There are full kitchen facilities, BBQ, a TV room with games & books, two share bathrooms, internet access, parking, bike storage, large garden and a sun deck.  Linen and blankets are included in the room cost.  Definitely my choice of accommodation if you ever come by this way.

Dragonfly Inn reminds me of Gilmore Girls, so being a huge fan of that show, we just had to check out this inn.  More like a bed and breakfast and like almost all B & B .. they did not disappoint at all. If you are passing thru’ Nova Scotia on the way up to Halifax, you might just want to spend a nite at this cozy and lovely inn.  We brought our  xbox 360 since they have high speed internet and dvd machines in the rooms. You can also try the Coach house if you have kids .. as they have microwave ovens and a fridge for you.  I absolutely love the cozy rooms .. although i could use a bigger bathtub ..and a jacuzzi in the room would be even better.  The rates are very reasonable.. at $149 Canadian..  for the suite rooms and breakfast included as well.  Check out time is 3pm .. which is very rare in the hotel industry.. and check in is as early as 11am.  You would love that the inn is located at the heart of the Evangeline Trail and only a short walk to Fort Anne and the Historic Gardens.  There are cafes and markets as well as specialty stores in the valley, and we will go back there when we get the chance.
