Yes..! the Fryer’s Delight is the much talk about .. when it comes to fish and chips in London. If you wanna eat real fish.. head to Holborn, very near to the British Museum, you can’t missed it. From the outside and the inside. .it is nothing fanciful.. i’ll have to warn you .. but you are afterall, there for the food eh.

Busy, busy .. it’s always busy. During the day.. Fryer’s is packed with office workers.. and at nite.. you have cabbies coming in for take outs. Everything is fried.. and greasy.. do not expect healthy eh. Besides the fish and chips.. you can find pies.. pasties.. sausages..fries, cheese onion pies and anything and everything fatty. Food are cheap and good here. Great for ppl on a low budget.

The no nonsense counter.

And the menu.. Cheap eh..?

Traveling around the world had brought me a wealth of knowledge and it really humbled me.  Seeing so many new things .. and experiencing the different culture of different countries.. and different food. .different weather.. different people and their likes and dislikes.  But one thing for sure. .that are common amongst the men from all over the world.. is their love for their trucks.

We are a fishing town here..  in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.  Fishermen are aplently.. and 99.9% of them have their own truck .. to haul those fishes out.. from the wharf.  But you can also see how lucrative this trade is .. because after the fishing season, you can see them driving out to town in their fanciful trucks on their  F150 wheels.  And we all know that these wheels has got to be one of its kind and the best. Trust these fishermen to buy the very best.. else they won’t even go near it with a 20 feet pole. Yes..! they’ve got taste.. and they sure know how to splurge it.

I used to get all stressed up when i am planning a business trip or a vacation, so much so that I end up getting sick or getting such a bad migraine even before getting onto the airplane.  But these days.. i’m well prepared.. and i have everything i need for traveling.. and i make use of progesterone products to combat even my PMS.  So i don’t even need to plan my trips around my menses.  I go whenever i want and wherever i want… now this is being a experienced traveler.

September is round the corner .. and it definitely reminds me of OcktoberFest In Munich, Germany. It was all about drinking beer .. eating pretzels.. and fun.. loads of fun..! If you are in Munich .. during the fest.. you should go early. The tents are filled up really quick.

Look at the people waiting to get in.

From the carpark.

Mayor’s office in Munich

Kalathas Beach was definitely a sight to behold. Driving thru’ an old road, we arrived at one of the nicest beach I’ve ever set eyes on . The beach here had high tide the time we were there. .so we did have some fun.. fooling around.. and just getting ourselves wet. In September.. it wasn’t getting any cooler.. and here I thought it was the end of summer.

Lovely beach eh..?? I had so much fun.. just sun-tanning and reading a book. .and having a cup of espresso.

There were water sports.. as you can see here.. and people playing volley balls.. and there were lots of sunbeds too. There was a small island about 100m aways. .and we did get to swim around there too. We headed to Chania after this.. but that’s for another day .. and another story.

Venice, Italy

Venice during dusk .. brings back many good memories. I was there several times.. during the last 20 years.. and everytime i go back.. it seems different.. yet the same.. like visiting an old friend. I know.. i know.. it’s corny .. muahahha!! but yes.. i loved Venice alot.. and i usually go only during the spring time.. because it is absolutely crowded during summer.

Everyone knows about the Piazza San Marco aka St Mark’s square, you don’t even need to travel to Venice to know about it. It is said that the Piazza San Marco is so popular .. that photographers from all over the world.. flocks over here to take pictures of it. Our Europe office was nearby .. so we do get to talk walks over here.. during lunch time. Our hotel was pretty near .. the Piazza .. we stayed in Bauer Hotel .. but that would be for another post.

Some 20 yrs ago.. when i started traveling because of work, i had a canon camera.. that needed film and developing and of course loads of photo albums were bought too.  These days.. with my digital camera.. i only need to upload it on the computer.. and print the ones i want to put in picture frames and the rest in storage … on my hard drive.  But it is really a shame.. because i have so many albums.. and even if i do scan them and store them digitally .. the quality would never be the same .. as the ones i took now.  So remembering all those trips i took around the world.. would have to be in an old fashioned way. An album.

One of the best things about traveling has got to be making new friends.. and re-kindling with old ones.  During my trips for work.. to Europe.. i was blessed to be able to connect with some of my friends from Glasgow University ..after losing touch for so many years.  I still remembered the guy from the science faculty .. that had some acne scars who was trying to woo after another good girlfriend of mine .. many years ago .. and guessed what.. they got married.. eventually .. after so many years of relentless courtship.  It was really great playing catch up .. after more than 10 yrs and the strangest thing was .. we met each other not in Glasgow.. but on one of my trips to Paris.

A castle stay and feel like a king…?? The Waterford Castle is truly an experience for me. Located 2 miles from Waterford city, it is like a private estate in a 310 acre island. Talk about the golf course.. it’s amazing..!! But the room were quite old but comfy but it does give you that creepy feel if you know what i mean. The furnishing is tasteful.. and retained the old charm world of a 15th century castle.

The interior of the Waterford Castle, the interior was very tastefully furnished but i can’t seems to get a good picture of it.

Good stonework over here

This is the dining area. The in-house restaurant has seasonal menus and they specializes in Irish food and some of the finest international cuisine. They do have a resident pianist that plays during peak season at dinner time.

Amsterdam..! famous for its beer as well as plenty of coffee shops. The heinekan experience is a must if you are in Amsterdam. Well.. you guessed as much as I .. what will go on.. right..?? first they bring you for a short tour in the brewery and then show you how beer is brewed. Taking a walk to the brewery was nice.. we passed the square and then the dam.. and thinking of having a few free beers makes it alright for the walk.

The tour was fun.. and they gave you alot of information about Heineken but the highlight of the whole tour has gotta be standing on a moving platform with a movie screen in front of you. And you get to experience the bottling process right in front of you.

Need I say more..?

Where the beer is brewed.

The Bulldog coffee shop.. you can’t missed.. coz’ it all over the city.

Red light district in Amsterdam.
