The Hilton Glasgow Hotel was the very first hotel i stayed in .. when i landed from the airport .. for my first assignment on my first job. Ironically my 4 yrs adventure of University in Glasgow, Scotland did not afford me to stay in this hotel. It wasn’t very far from the airport .. and i was thankful for that.. because our flight landed late. The front desk staff was very polite .. and efficient.. but when i tried to make a joke with them.. they didn’t laugh. This was when it hit me.. that the Asian hospitality is different from those in the West.

They didn’t have high speed internet then .. that they boast about now.. but the restaurants.. and bar were there.. when i first visited. They did have a indoor pool .. that was quite small compared to the ones in Asia.. and a fitness center.. that I never got to use. AS you all know .. the Hilton is a brand name.. that is synonymous with high quality standard. One can never really go wrong with staying at the Hilton.

Built some some ten years ago. It sits on prime location overlooking the River Clyde. It is 20 storey high building with 300 rooms and of course executive rooms .. what we called club rooms here. 2 restaurants and of course conference room.

Nope .. this wasn’t the room i stayed in.. mine was a deluxe room. But you can be ensured that staying at the Hilton .. you can rarely go wrong. Plus shopping area is not very far away from the hotel.. but I don’t advice walking.. because they do provide a shutter.

Golf In Sweden

Golfing in Sweden was truly and experience. With castles, the land of vikings and really old stuff.. Sweden’s golf course are very near to ancient burial sites .. with Viking remains.. and lots of beautiful castles. A golf trip to Skane .. and hitting some golf balls with some business clients of ours.. actually opened my view .. to the game itself. Well.. i don’t see golfing as a game no more.. more like a healthy exercise.

Seeing Europe was an eye opener, not only was there the cultural difference.. the food.. and even the air was different.  The Europeans have good taste in decorating their homes.. and while shopping with the bosses’ wives.. i can’t help but brought home a furniture catalog with me.  Every store we went to .. had some kind of shopping catalog.. it was fun.. to collect all of them.

London Borough Market is one of my favourite farmer’s market that I try to do whenever I get a chance to be in London. For those who knows me, you’ll know that I love good cheese .. and the free samples that they give out were great. Of course they have more than cheese at the Borough Market, smell the aroma of grilled meat.. and oysters.. and olives .. i can only eye them .. and drool.. and sample.. because my trip usually consist of a week or so.. therefore bringing them home is not feasible.

There were grilled sausages in toasted bread roll .. i think they called it a bap. How about some mushroom pate..?? And yummy aparagus..! they are awesome..! i usually spend half a day at the Borough Market.. and still didn’t get to see everything and taste everything. Sad eh..? Everytime i am there.. I will tell myself.. i’ll stay a little longer the next time.. but there is just too much to see and try.  London’s oldest food market, for 250 yrs.. it has occupied itself on the same site.. so i donch think they are going anywheres.  Don’t forget to visit when you are in London.

If this presentation doesn’t tickle you .. then i don’t know what will. This is not what i had expected.. when i ordered some potato soup… luckily it tasted alright.

This is Diekmann in Weinhaus Huth, there are other locations .. so don’t meet up at the wrong place. This one is located at Postdammer Place. This was pretty near our hotel.. and we were recommended by the concierge. Service was excellent.. and dress code was casual smart. Other food and drinks we tried.. were so-so.. nothing to short about.. but prices were very affordable.

The interior of the restaurant. It was a pretty busy place.. when we were there. Reservation is definitely recommended.

Traveling around Europe and from airport to train station and to bus station made me realized one thing.  When one get bored waiting for a flight or a train ride, digital signage provided whether for the flight times .. or the change of terminals for different flight and advertising for certain products were being watched and in fact people can go on and on watching it for hours.  My conclusion at that point was .. digital signs was a more effective way for advertising .. way more interesting to attract a potential customer than those traditional and static signs.

Now that I’ve become the owner by association to the spouse’s business for almost 9 yrs, and have tried every kind of advertising that you can name and are affordable, I still think that in order to attract a customer or a potential one … digital sign is the way to go.  Affordable and definitely ever changing, easy to manage and can be learned in minutes, updated anywheres in the world.  Low cost, no need to hire a specialist to man the program and excellent customer service is what smarter sign is all about. You want powerful advertising to reach out to your customers..?? try them.

I also flew Luthansa Airlines alot .. when i traveled around Europe.. but I’ll have to say .. that customer service at the passenger line .. whether at the airport or the offices.. were good experiences for me. I love the fact that the seating had a little more space in between than other airlines.. and in flight food was good.. when you flew business class.

I hear they are still running the Chef program at Lufthansa. I love that they provide cheese platter throughout your meals, including fresh fruit platter.

A quick flight from Heathrow to Frankfrut economy class gets you this sandwich only of cheese though but they also have a banana and chocolate flavored muesli bar.

No one likes being in debt and there is no need to be embarrassed if you are, you are not alone .. i assure you. Unfortunate things do happen to the best people. And there are people who can help.. and can understand your situation.

Don’t worry about those intimidating and embarrassing face to face counseling sessions because debt negotiation need not be awful. People are here to help and you will be doing everything that is needed to be done online in the privacy of your own home or office. Ready to live or even travel debt free..?? check NetDebt.com out.

Bath, England

Very unique with hot springs everywhere is what Bath, England is famous for. I love the countryside surroundings and it is one of the most beautiful places that i’ve visited when i was in England. Shopping is pretty unique experience with the quaint little shops they have in Bath. i love the home and garden shop very much, and even bought a few good stuff from there.

Bath, Abbey is a church build since the eighth century, it stands on a plot of land next to the Roman Baths. Legent has it that the current exterior from the 15th century was commissioned by God to the Bishop Oliver King in his dream. Open for services on Sundays.

Attracting visitors from all over the world, the Roman Bath is the best preserved Roman sites that comprises a temple that was built over a sacred spring. Offering more than 12,500 coins to the goddess .. the water is green in color as you can see in the picture.

I was in just finishing my university in Glasgow many years ago, when my few buddies wanted me to join them on a tour around Europe for our summer vacation instead of returning home right away.  But unlike my buddies, I wasn’t a very rich student at that time and in fact was on scholarship .. and had to work part time in the library for anything extras.  You can imagine how reluctant i was to miss this golden opportunity to see Europe.  Those were supposedly to be my carefree days.

Now when i hear the high school students from Canada going for school trips to Europe.. i can only envy them because they now can rent affordable apartments like the Budapest apartments.  I hear they are not only affordable for students, the budget travelers and those family with lots of children, these apartments are very safe and size of hotel rooms with all the amenities of a hotel.  With such good rates, schools and their students benefits from this tremendously.  Exploring Europe at such a young age is not impossible no more.
